The new HGST low noise connectors are designed to provide easy connection of ground wires to the OMEGA probes and extension wire. The drain wire of a 20 AWG twisted shield cable or the shield of the overbraided wire is crimped and held in place by the HGST's internal hardware. The HGST has excellent thermal and electrical characteristics to assure high accuracy. Each connector includes an HCP-L and HCP-GST write-on insert. Ground straps may be ordered separately to provide additional mechanical rigidity and strengthen the mechanical connection between the connectors. Ground straps also maintain the electrical connection through the connector, protecting against electrical noise errors. The optional ferrite core helps provide additional immunity against outside electrical noise.
